Day 2. Istanbul

Take a journey through famous historical landmarks of Istanbul

Stroll through the ancient Hippodrome of Constantinople followed by a visit to the most majestic Ottoman Mosques of Istanbul named Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque)

Next let the Hagia Sophia Museum, the oldest surviving Byzantine basilica, take your breath away with its timeless history. The symbol of Istanbul Topkapi Palace, magnificent architecture combined with wide history and culture of the Ottoman Empire.

Lunch at Indian restaurant. Walk through the streets of old city to Grand Covered Bazaar. Consisting of a vast labyrinth of more than 60 twisting streets crammed with more than 4,000 shops, teahouses, hamams (Turkish baths), mosques, storehouses and fountains, Grand Bazaar is the biggest covered bazaar in the world.

Day 3. Istanbul

High speed train. Arrival to the fantastic Cappadocia region.

Today we travel by train: from the station in the Asia district, we take the most modern and fast train in Turkey, a pleasant 4-hour trip through the Anatolian landscapes, perhaps having a coffee in the train café. Arrival in ANKARA. Lunch at Indian restaurant.

Travel by coach, we will take you to discover the Mausoleum of Ataturk. After that, we will continue en route to Cappadocia.

We will pass through the SALT LAKE, with its incredible landscapes. (CAPPADOCIA)

Day 4. Cappadocia

This morning’s first visit will be Goreme Open Air Museum which has been a member of UNESCO World Heritage List since 1984 and a museum where you will be able to visit the churches carved into the Fairy Chimneys from the 10th-13th centuries.

Continue to Devrent Valley also known as Imaginary Valley or Pink Valley, reveals many different rock formations. Last visit before lunch break is the village of Avanos which is a centre of terra cotta work of art since 3000 BC and it is a town you will be invited to visit a traditional pottery workshop. Todays last visit is Pasabagi (Monks’ Valley) to see the most interesting mushroom-shaped pinnacles.

Overnight in Cappadocia

Day 5. Cappadocia

At the far end of Cappadocia, Early departure for Pamukkale.

we will visit the IHLARA Valley; known for the freshness of its waters, its churches and villages excavated in the rock. Then we continue our route, with a stop in an old CARAVANSERAI from the 13th Century before arriving in KONYA where we visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana.

Here we will learn about the sect of the Dervishes (entrance included)

Day 6. Pamukkale

We take a scenic road between the lakes, and get to know EGRIDIR, a beautiful town next to a large lake, with its walls and mosques. There’s time to stop for local lunch. We then continue to PAMUKKALE-Hierapolis, whose calcareous waters have created the Cotton Castle (entrance included) ancient Hierapolis, once an Ancient Greek City and the hot springs adjacent to the city were used as a Spa since the 2nd Century BC..

Day 7. Kusadasi

Morning tour to Ephesus area with Ephesus Antique City.

EPHESUS, the best preserved ancient city of Asia Minor; 2000 years ago it had a quarter of a million inhabitants. We see the house of the Virgin Mary, the Basilica of Saint John and the impressive ruins of Ephesus (entrance included).

Evening relax, coastal town with a lot of atmosphere, commercial life and a small castle.

Day 8. Kusadasi

Interior of Anatolia. Hanging bridges crossing the Sea of Marmara and the Bosphorus Strait.

We leave for the city with the fourth largest population in Turkey: IZMIR. We see the church of Saint Polycarp, the oldest in the city, which reminds us of the importance of this area in early Christianity (entrance included).Stop en route for lunch.

BURSA, the fourth largest city in Turkey, whose historic centre has been declared UNESCO World Heritage, with its traditional commercial districts, mosques, religious schools, public baths … The green mosque stands out.

We then return to inland Turkey. Arrival in ISTANBUL
